Ice Time 

This program is for those skaters who have successfully completed all CanSkate badges and are now working through their StarSkate 1-Gold levels. 

Skaters will have the opportunity to attend competitions through the season and complete assessments in the displine areas of figure skating: Artistic, Freeskate, Dance, and Skills, Synchro. 

Star 1-5 assessments will be completed by our coaches. Anything above level 5 will need to be completed by an evaluator.

ICE ETIQUETTE

·         Be on time for practice

·         No gum

·         No jeans or wide-leg pants

·         Skate laces must be tucked in or covered.

·         Continuous movement while on the ice, and to get up promptly after a fall to keep pathways clear for other skaters

·         Give the right of way to those skaters whose music is playing and to those who are in lessons

·         Show respect to your coach and fellow skaters on and off the ice. Bullying in any form will not be tolerated. Any witness of disrespectful behaviour is to be reported to the coach

·         The coach has a right to remove any skater who is disrespectful from an on-ice session

·         Hair tied back

·         No bulky clothing or mittens, avoid wearing toques unless absolutely necessary. 

·         Be aware of your surroundings while on the ice

·         Have a goal in mind that you would like to accomplish at each practice

·         Do a warm-up before getting on the ice

·         Keep bathroom breaks to a minimum. Your ice time is very valuable!

·         Coaches will inform skaters when they are ready for assessments and will coordinate dates and times with skaters and parents.
